COMPENSATION: $65,000 – $70,000. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Controller, the Accounting Manager (AM) will assist with daily accounting functions including month end closing, overseeing AP & AR, general ledger account analysis, bank reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, monthly financials, various analysis, and other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
- Perform general accounting duties; posting in accounting system and reconciling various accounts.
- Prepares monthly journal entries and maintains all accounting journals and ledgers while producing timely monthly financial statements.
- Review and audit all prepaid accounts, inventory reports, liability accounts, accounts payable and accounts receivable ledgers.
- Review financial statements for accuracy and legal compliance
- Prepare and file Sales and Use tax returns
- Calculate and file royalties
- Make Journal Entries
- Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts monthly
- Organize and update financial records
- Monitor and analyze budget analysis
- Recommend ways to reduce costs and enhance revenue
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations
- Processes electronic payments, bank deposits, and monthly bank reconciliations.
- Reconcile sales taxes, royalties, and bank accounts at the end of each month.
- Produce financial statements which include balance sheets, cash sheets, gross margin analysis, and income statements.
- Resolve account discrepancies by investigating documentation and resolving in a timely manner.
- Prepare and post recurring and ad hoc journal entries as needed.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist Controller and CEO with special projects.
- Assists CEO and Controller with producing yearly budgets for all departments.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
This position requires knowledge, skills and abilities equivalent to:
- Expert knowledge in Microsoft Office including strong Excel, Access, Word and Outlook experience.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize work with strong attention to detail.
- Advance knowledge working with QuickBooks Enterprise preferred.
- Ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced busy environment.
- Must participate in our pre-employment background and drug screening process.
- Results driven individual who can work independently with excellent organizational skills.
- Must be able to use 10 key adding machines and type at least 50 key strokes per minute.
- Associate Degree in Accounting preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written skills and ability to handle and process sensitive information, with a high degree of confidentiality and discretion.
- Must be able to successfully complete sufficiency assessment.
