Job description: Our client is looking for an Accounting Manager provides leadership and management for all daily

accounting transactions and analytical support to the organization. This position is responsible for the

preparation of monthly financial reporting and analysis, maintaining strong internal controls, and

assisting with various projects focused on efficiency and process improvements.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the month-end close process, ensuring timeliness and accuracy
  • Review journal entries, accruals and analysis prepared by staff
  • Prepare higher risks entries/analyses
  • Assist with preparation of monthly financial statements, including internal management reports and variance analyses
  • Review all general ledger account reconciliations, ensuring no aged reconciling items
  • Supervise and lead assigned staff members with day-to-day operations, providing guidance on accounting issues or other processes as needed, including other areas of professional growth
  • Oversee various government grant programs
  • Reviewing monthly reimbursement requests
  • Facilitating annual contract renewals and assisting with program audit
  • Ensure strong internal controls are maintained and/or enhanced to properly maintain and record assets, including but not limited to cash, investments, inventory, and fixed assets
  • Assist with the annual audit, along with the preparation of the Form 990 for all related entities
  • Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of the organization’s ERP and other third-party financial software, including the oversight of testing and accounting upgrades
  • Participate/lead in special project work such as implementation of new software systems and financial tools to gain efficiency
  • Collaborate with FP&A in the development of the organization’s annual budget and long-term financial planning/forecasting models
  • Respond to inquiries from staff across the organization in an effective and timely fashion; check accounting transactions to locate and resolve discrepancies
  • Backup support for other accounting personnel during planned/unplanned absences
  • Stay abreast of new accounting guidance, perform follow up research as needed and make recommendations for implementation of new/revised FASB standards
  • Perform ad hoc reporting, special projects and other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead two to three direct reports, including accounts receivable and accounts payable roles

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or similar field
  • CPA strongly preferred

Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including intermediate to advanced Excel
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, internal controls and GAAP
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Navision preferred or similar ERP software
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong organizational skills – managing multiple tasks with great attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – responsive, customer service oriented and collaborative
  • Ability to work with all levels of employees and senior management to problem-solve, improve

processes and implement best practices

Experience:

  • 5 years of related work preferred, including proven experience in a supervisory role

Location: Plano – Onsite

Hours: Full Time

Compensation: 60K-80K DOE
