Summary of Job Duties: The Administrative Assistant provides high-level secretarial assistance to faculty and serves as a liaison between law faculty and students. This position must use knowledge of court procedures and legal terminology and perform general office tasks as well as work cooperatively and communicate effectively with staff and faculty.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Formal education is equivalent to a high school diploma

One year of specialized training in business management, business education, or a related field

Two years of experience in specialized or a related field applicable to work performed

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience providing administrative support for university faculty

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Knowledge of record keeping procedures and professional office policies and procedures

Knowledge of the principles and practices of mathematics and statistics

Knowledge of work-related subject area

Knowledge of computers and software applications

Strong Windows-based computer skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

Excellent oral and written communication skills that pertain to controversial and complex topics

Ability to conduct research and compile data into report form

Ability to operate standard office equipment

Ability to analyze documents to determine compliance with rules, regulations, and procedures

Ability to communicate both orally and in writing

Ability to make decisions and experience in problem-solving
