Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for internal customers in the dynamic environment. Possess expertise in the IT support area and has technical understanding of the business unit systems, capabilities, and respective technologies. Analyze customer processes and requirements.

Prepare specified project documentation according to UAL standards. Assist in business process redesign as needed. Maintain communication with customer and team members and promote a team environment.

Technical expertise: Windows 10, Office 365, Audio/video content management experience, IPTrade/Cisco Voice, SCCM, Project management.

  • Knowledge in own discipline

  • Provides technical support and solutions
  • Makes decisions within guidelines & policy
  • May manage projects of limited scope
  • Assist in planning and design of solutions via requirements gathering.
  • Create simple workflow models and process maps based on input from multiple sources.
  • Lead meetings with Technology and Business Partners to gather needs and requirements
  • Aligns process/procedures to best practice solutions
  • Analyzes efficiencies and effectiveness of current solutions.
  • Document training programs and knowledge articles
  • Basic understanding of business principles (United systems)
  • Identifies problems/issues and finds solutions
  • Monitors compliance and adherence to principles
  • Partners with business managers
  • Ensures work is within project scope
  • Document service levels
  • Analyzes efficiencies and effectiveness of current solutions.
  • Document training programs and knowledge articles
  • Basic understanding of business principles (United systems)
  • Identifies problems/issues and finds solutions
  • Monitors compliance and adherence to principles
  • Ensures work is within project scope

  • BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, related field or equivalent work experience
  • Must be within a commutable distance to Arlington Heights, IL
  • Must be able to work onsite within a 24x7x365 shift
  • 2-5 years of IT support experience in an IT organization with experience in end user support or systems administration
  • Working knowledge of ITIL Service Management concepts
  • Working knowledge of their respective environment including basic knowledge of Windows or mainframe systems
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship


  • ITIL Foundations Certification
  • Experience with airline applications in a distributed or mainframe environment
  • Basic understanding of application messaging and complex event processing
  • Expert knowledge of the IT Service Management concepts and process
  • Knowledge of scripting for either UNIX or ORACLE platforms is desired
  • Communication Skills- The ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of employees and management, capable of successful formal and informal communication, speaks and writes clearly and understandably at the right level
  • Problem Solving – Demonstrates the ability to solve problems through a process of elimination and logical reasoning based on both experience and knowledge within their domain
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
