Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

The College of Information Studies (iSchool) Assistant Director of IT is responsible for managing the iSchool IT Services Group to provide essential infrastructure, systems, and services to support the administrative, education, and research activities of the College.

The Assistant Director of IT’s primary duties include the management of IT development projects; oversight of IT operations; management of IT spending and contracts; and management of the IT services team and associated personnel.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an information-related area (such as Information Systems, Information Studies, Information Management, Communications, Education, Educational Technology, etc.) plus seven (7) years of related work experience.
  • Three years of experience in personnel and project management.
  • Basic financial and budget management experience.
  • Ability to communicate with customers with a range of technical needs and skill levels.

Preferences:

  • Experience leading IT services teams and/or supervising technical support personnel
  • Experience in a higher education IT environment
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and organizational skills.
  • A strong commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
  • Demonstration of strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
