University of Miami Athletics is seeking an innovative professional to lead and grow a best-in-class creative and digital marketing agency within the athletics department. The Associate AD of Creative & Digital will develop the organization’s digital media and marketing strategies while leading a team of creatives (video, design, photo) and marketers (social, web, mobile) focused on storytelling and consumer engagement that expands and enhances the brand of the Miami Hurricanes.

Reporting to the Deputy AD and working with athletic department leadership, coaches, student-athletes, and partners, the Associate AD, Creative & Digital Strategy will set a vision and lead transformational change for an exciting brand with significant growth potential in the industry. This individual will be a digital-minded storyteller that builds engagement and community across varying verticals of the department including donors, season ticket holders, retail buyers, and social/digital followers. This position will lead department efforts to engage, inspire, grow, and retain the athletics department’s various constituents through a wide range of digital and in-venue platforms. The Associate AD, Creative & Digital Strategy will be a visionary who is grounded in results and understands how to turn big ideas into tangible results for the organization.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the long-term digital roadmap strategy and drive innovation across multiple digital verticals
  • Develop and maintain digital media and marketing strategies for the athletic department and sport programs
  • Project lead for high-visibility digital marketing channels including social media accounts, Miami Hurricanes mobile app,, Canes Vault NFTs, and other relevant platforms
  • Manage digital, design, and feature video teams and department budget for equipment, software, contractors, and other resources
  • Work with executive stakeholders from every department to guide storytelling and content approaches in alignment with the department’s creative vision
  • Project lead in creating, developing, and managing community engagement through Discord
  • Liaison with athletic department administration, head coaches, campus representatives, and partners (adidas, WMT, Opendorse, others) to achieve organizational goals and position Miami Athletics as a leader in digital media and marketing
  • Guide coaches, staff, and student-athletes with personal branding and NIL consultation
  • Oversee strategies related to content distribution for current and former student-athletes
  • Track new emerging industry trends and maintain an in-depth understanding of digital marketing channels, platforms, and mobile technologies.
  • Assist the email marketing team in the creation of visually appealing and engaging communications

Education Requirements (Essential Requirements):

  • Bachelor’s degree required

Work Experience Requirements (Essential Requirements):

  • 5+ years of increasing digital media and marketing experience within an agency or sports-related organization
  • Minimum three years of experience managing creative and/or digital teams
