Position Hours are Monday – Friday, 1:30 pm to 10:30 pm, 5% shift differential for evening
The Gwinnett County Department of Support Services includes the divisions of the Facility Construction, Fiscal and Solid Waste Management, Fleet Management, Operations and Maintenance, and Real Estate and Records Management.
The Operations and Maintenance Division provides responsive and cost-effective services in the arenas of operations, maintenance, and repair of County facilities. Our vision is to remain one of the premier public facilities management operations in the region, with services provided in a sustained manner at the highest standards of quality and efficiency. The division is innovative and forward thinking; and is a leader in the County’s environmental sustainability efforts, constructing three LEED certified facilities, undertaking major energy conservation and management initiatives, and helping the County obtain a Platinum Certificate in the Atlanta Regional Commission’s Green Communities Program. The division provides services to more than 200 buildings comprising over 2.5 million square feet of space. Services include housekeeping, landscaping maintenance, and comprehensive building maintenance inclusive of carpentry and finishes, electrical power and lighting, low-voltage systems, HVAC systems, plumbing, and security and life safety systems. The division plans and implements a five year Capital Maintenance Plan with an average annual budget of around $5 million. The division has 47 full time employees and an annual Operating Budget of $8.3 million.
This position performs custodial duties and supervises an inmate crew that performs same. This role performs various other building services tasks. The Grade for this position is A13(1).
- High School Diploma or GED preferred, or, completion of coursework up through 8th grade;
- Two years of directly related experience;
- or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of this position;
- Valid Driver’s License from state of residency
The following must be obtained within 90 days of employment or at the department’s discretion:
- CPR Certificate
- First Aid Certificate
- State Inmate Supervisor Certificate
- Defensive Driving
