Job description: We are seeking a Compliance, Conduct and Operational Risk (CCOR) Associate who will effectively partner with Line of Business (LOB) and global/regional Compliance teams; including Internal Audit, Operational Risk and other Control functions. This position requires knowledge and experience in Compliance, as well as familiarity with regulatory and/or audit best practices.

The Operational Risk Management (ORM) team within Global Data Risk Management is responsible for independently, holistically, and proactively identifying, assessing, and managing operational risks across the Firmwide Data Management (FDM) Corporate Function. The role will require knowledge of Operational Risk and key risk management skills.

Description for Internal Candidates

Responsibilities:

The Operational Risk Management (ORM) team within Global Data Risk Management is responsible for independently, holistically, and proactively identifying, assessing, and managing operational risks across the Firmwide Data Management (FDM) Corporate Function. The role will require knowledge of Operational Risk and key risk management skills, along with an ability to build strong relationships. This Operational Risk position will have the following responsibilities overseeing operational risks across Firmwide Data Management:

  • Ensure that the Compliance, Conduct & Operational Risk (CCOR) Framework is in place and operating effectively.
  • Act as point of expertise for Operational Risk, advising business partners and other functional groups on emerging and key risk trends, risk events and issues, Key Risk Indicators and other metrics, risk appetite, tolerance and governance.
  • Perform deep inspection of specific data management processes, conducting Deep Dives identifying key risks and mitigation measures.
  • Develop, maintain, and review Operational Risk Policies, Standards and Procedures, monitoring implementation and ongoing compliance.
  • Liaise with 1st and 2nd line business partners on risk and control initiatives (e.g., Risk Identification, Risk Assessment and implementation of CORE).
  • Provide independent operational risk oversight in key governance forums (e.g., Business Control Forums and Committees).
  • Conduct reviews on new operational capabilities and new proposals (or changes).

Qualifications:

  • At least 6 years of experience with risk management, controls management, or audit required
  • Ability to understand risks and their drivers and to form, articulate and explain views. Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to lead and direct compliance with the Operational Risk Management agenda, and assess the operational risk impact related to Firmwide Data Management.
  • Strong data management practices knowledge in disciplines such as data governance, data protection, data retention, and data destruction.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and influencing skills.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills with demonstrated ability to manage expectations, drive change and deliver results in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
  • Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to think and act independently.
  • Experience in interacting with global partners and senior management across businesses and geographies.
  • Must be able to drive improvement opportunities through leadership alignment and execution to an the desired end state
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workflow with minimal supervision
