SUMMARY

The Consolidated Chemical Storage Building (CCSA) Flammable Liquid Storage Building (FLSB) Coordinator provides support to production and nonproduction departments for an uninterrupted supply of various solvents and chemicals to production and production support areas. Provide service for all waste storage, treatment, and disposal needs in the Central Waste Accumulation Area (CWAA) for the Western Currency Facility (WCF).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following:

  • Responsible for the safe, clean, efficient, and successful operation and maintenance of the BEP WCF CCSB, the associated FLSB, and the CWAA and associated Satellite Accumulation Areas.
  • Performs such operations and maintenance in compliance and in accordance with any and all applicable Federal, State, and local laws, regulations, codes, ordinances and conditions (i.e., public and occupational health, safety, and environmental protection) that govern the management, maintenance and operation of such functional areas.
  • Tracks and completes all environmental compliance reporting, inspection, and permitting requirements. Enters all data required for keeping the EEB Environmental Management System up to date.
  • Develop and conduct forklift inspections in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendation and other guidance, revise as required. Submit work orders when needed.
  • Ensure that forklifts are stored properly and recharged to be ready for the next day’s activities.
  • Coordinate chemical approvals for changes in vendors or new solvents; or on an as needed basis for other chemicals.
  • Track chemical expiration dates and take appropriate actions to limit waste.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY

Leads and/or guides the work of others.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Chemical Engineering from an ABET-approved engineering school and up to 3 years of experience in environmental compliance support.
  • Six years’ work experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
  • 4 years’ work experience may substitute for an Associates degree,

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Candidates must be US citizens
  • Candidates will be subject to a US government background investigation and a drug screen
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable environmental regulations
  • Experienced with chemical compatibility requirements associated with storage and handling of various chemicals, including flammable liquids.
  • Knowledge of materials handling, and Federal Hazardous and Texas Industrial Solid Waste regulations is required.
  • Ability to pass a U.S. Treasury Department Tier 1 background check for long-term access to the BEP WCF.
  • Knowledge of Federal contracting requirements preferred.
  • Ability to pass a U.S. Treasury Department Tier 1 background check for long-term access to the BEP WCF.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed primarily in a climate-controlled office environment and non-climate controlled industrial environment.

COVID 19 VACCINATION

Pursuant to U.S. Presidential Executive Order 14042, Cherokee Federal is now requiring that all employees be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 by December 8th and going forward. Cherokee Federal is monitoring the court case and awaiting a final ruling. As a result of the injunction, Cherokee Federal is halting the enforcement of the mandate, however, if the injunction is lifted and the mandate remains, Cherokee Federal must reenact its vaccine requirement.
