Job Summary
Provide Enterprise leadership as a member of the Leadership Group, and provide leadership within the F&A Department as a member of the F&A Leadership Team. Provide leadership within Corporate Accounting relative to Associate development and performance, financial reporting, accounts payable, customer billing, information systems, and financial compliance activities. Recommend and lead the development and implementation of quality accounting processes that ensure successful delivery of company objectives.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
1. Talent Management
a. Advocates for effective execution of the performance management process by collaborating with direct report/s to set clear objectives, goals and expectations. Conducts regular coaching and constructive feedback discussions to review performance and goal progress, assist with challenges, and identify strengths and development areas, all to support Associate professional and career development, while increasing engagement and motivation.
b. Supports workforce planning and talent acquisition strategies by effectively staffing and hiring diverse talent for the organization.
c. Addresses Associate relations and performance issues in a timely manner and/or makes appropriate decisions relative to performance challenges.
d. Develop direct reports to increase the bench strength and flexibility of the team. Ensure that Associates receive appropriate training and resources to perform their jobs effectively and efficiently.
2. Provide financial leadership for financial reporting, accounts payable, and customer billing activities
a. Lead the company’s monthly and annual financial reporting. Review prepared statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
b. Monitor pronouncement by the FASB’s Emerging Issues Task Force and related accounting standards updates (ASUs). Analyze ASUs impact on Company’s financial statements and communicate findings. Plan, coordinate and implement new accounting standards in a timely manner.
c. Serve as GAAP subject matter expert to broader Finance and Accounting area as well as other Company Associates as required.
d. Identify and recommend modification to Company accounting policies and internal controls necessary to achieve company objectives and prevent fraud. Implement recommendations, as approved by CFO.
e. Perform and/or review account reconciliations and financial analysis. Investigate deficiencies or unusual variances. Communicate findings. Coordinate remedy where required with other Associates.
f. Prepare and post journal entries, and review other journal entries.
g. Understand Company objectives relative to Procure-to-Pay and Order-to-Cash. Oversee Accounts Payable and Billing functions.
h. Drive and recommend continual improvements in work process to improve efficiency and effectiveness of Corporate Accounting’s operations.
3. Manage the development, maintenance and control of accounting information systems
a. Lead and oversee the development, maintenance and control of one or more existing systems of record. These include but are not limited to: General Ledger, Project Accounting, Bank, and Fixed Assets, Accounts Payable and Billing.
b. Lead the development, maintenance and control other Finance and Accounting information systems. Examples include but are not limited to: GL data warehouse, Fixed Assets data warehouse, and Capital Tracking.
c. Lead the development and maintenance of financial report writing using Business Intelligence or ERP reporting tools.
d. Lead development and maintenance of content management systems.
4. Lead and manage financial compliance related activities
a. Coordinate preparation of information as requested by the companies’ external income tax preparer. Review information prepared by other for accuracy and completeness.
b. Oversee the construction of the companies’ property tax returns to various municipal agencies.
c. Oversee preparation of reports required by the U.S. census bureau.
d. Oversee the preparation of annual state licensing and franchise tax returns.
e. Ensure income tax returns and accompanying payments are complete, paid, and filed in a timely manner.
f. Prepare the periodic state nexus study. Serve as nexus subject matter expert.
g. Execute various financial compliance projects and perform analysis as directed.

Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
MAcc, MSA, or MBA preferred.
Experience & Training
- Minimum of ten (10) years of related Finance & Accounting experience and leading others required.
Licenses & Certifications
- Certified Public Accountant
- Member of the AICPA
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to work with ambiguity and manage self with high level of independence
- Advanced knowledge of information systems; advanced PC skills, including Windows and the Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to make complex decisions and Strategic agility
- Advanced understanding of financial analysis and accounting policies, procedures, programs and processes
- Ability to stay current with evolving tax and accounting policies and laws
- Ability to use advanced mathematical concepts
- Advanced skills in the development of financial ratios and comparative analysis.
