The Director of Digital Data and Analytic Products is responsible for portfolio strategy development, identify areas of opportunity, and aid in decision making for leadership, and oversees all aspects of Data related activities for multiple GBUs. They will lead a Digital Data Products team globally and provide functional, technological and process expertise and guidance on cornerstone / enterprise or large projects as part of Baxter’s Enterprise IT DATA organization. Their team of product line owners identify, evaluate, develop and /or redesign data products that meet user requirements. They communicate and realize vision and strategy for the organization that aligns with the business and patient needs. They aid business customers with business process redesign on large projects and identifying and responding to opportunities for cost-effective system implementations and solutions by analyzing and making decisions that have cross functional business impact.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for product vision
  • Owns strategic planning and technical roadmap development for Data and Analytics for multiple GBU and be accountable for tactical execution of development programs spanning across the product portfolio
  • Responsible for product line budgets
  • Coordinates product development on a high level
  • Establishes clear accountability, operational excellence and leadership for resource staffing and project execution with proactive management of technical and project risk to ensure delivery of business commitments
  • Develops a data culture in the organization with focus on design and architectural thinking to drive data quality and reliability goals leveraging the culture levers of Speed, Simplicity, Collaboration and Courage
  • Embrace and embed agile ways of working in support of a fail-fast-learn-fast culture and enabling continual improvement
  • Foster a collaborative work environment with strong working relationships within and across businesses and functions, and with strategic external partners
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant Quality System Regulations and other regulatory requirements related to research and development (product development, design and safety) to ensure compliance in all research, data collection and reporting activities
  • Deliver large GBU level projects, demonstrate extensive business knowledge, require minimal direction, give moderate direction to others, handle key complex problems, possess extensive knowledge of SDLC and Agile methodologies

Key Experiences & Attributes:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business or a related field such as technology, economics, computer science, data management, communication, marketing or statistics
  • 10+ years of development experience with at least 5 years in Functional management/People leadership roles in Data Domain
  • Minimum 10+ years’ experience working with Business users, driving, and defining functional and analytical data requirements for end-to-end solutioning as well as driving an implementation team through Agile methods
  • Significant experience in leading teams in Data & Analytics programs with experience in native digital technologies (cloud, big data and predictive) in organizations driving product development
  • Change Agent – Catalyst for the teams and expected to lead the transformation to a fail-fast-learn-fast culture enabling continual improvement
  • Servant Leader – Able to gain respect from his/her team and willing to get their hands dirty to get the job done
  • Courageous – Able to effectively challenge and influence peers and teams, leading them through difficult or uncertain situations
  • Significant experience working in a global matrix environment
  • Strong team building and talent management skills, and the ability to motivate team members to achieve goals
  • Must be a strategic, innovative problem solver, and have strong influencing and communication skills
  • Understanding of global regulatory requirements, design control requirements (FDA QS Regulation 21 CFR Part 820, ISO 13485), Risk management ISO 14971 and Cybersecurity requirements
  • Strong knowledge of business process flow and/or entity relationship modeling
  • Demonstrated outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively with other technology teams as well as business partners. Ability to effectively present information, interact with, and respond to questions from managers, employees, customers, and vendors
