Orbis is seeking a Director of Professional Services to support projects and customers in the industrial and manufacturing markets. The Director will guide, and lead projects related to Orbis’s Enterprise CCMS and content development services. The Director will work with project managers, developers, support team members, content engineers, and technical writers to support internal sales, upgrades, customizations, and technical documentation and training projects.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Client relationship development and project execution.
  • Accountable for project/program cost, schedule, and performance.
  • Leads customer interactions.
  • Manages internal and external logistics coordination.
  • Writes Statement of Work (SOW), status reports.
  • Manages project risks and mitigation.
  • Responsible for resource management and personnel management/development.

Experience and Skills:

  • U.S. citizenship.
  • Bachelor of Science or Arts with experience in software development.
  • 10+ years’ experience in product development, including experience in software engineering.
  • Strong presentation and writing skills with ability and interest in attending service engagements and contributing to technical proposals.
  • Ability to communicate complex issues with technical peers and non-technical clients.
  • Ability to work in a team environment towards the common objective of meeting client expectations, client commitments, and company profitability goals.
  • Knowledge of Content Management Systems.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience managing the development of technical documentation and eLearning.
  • Experience in an Agile environment and software development teams.

Work Hours & Location:

Full-time, on-site, exempt position with hours of operations from Monday to Friday, between 8 am to 5 pm, at one of our offices in Annapolis, MD; Durham, NC; Colorado Springs, CO; or Brookfield, WI.
