Job description: We are looking for a creative and passionate Engineering Manager to join the Music Mission, Spotify’s division dedicated to helping artists thrive! Our mission is to create tools that help artists and their teams build an audience, monetize their fans, and thrive off their work.

In this role you will lead, shape, and grow an essential engineering team. This group of front and backend engineers focuses on building products and services that help our internal Creator Support team serve the millions of artists that use our flagship product. . This team’s work is essential in making sure our support teams have what they need to help artists get the support they need to use the platform.

As the technical leader of this team, you will be tasked with establishing healthy team practices, translating product strategy to iterative technical delivery, and strategically growing the team over time. You will partner closely with your product and design counterparts to manage key stakeholders, develop roadmaps and build out internal toolings to support the Spotify for Artist platform.

What you’ll do:

  • Build, lead and serve an effective team of engineers through hiring, coaching, mentoring, feedback, and hands-on career development.
  • Work closely with your product lead, design lead, engineering team, and stakeholders to enable sustainable and timely delivery of technical solutions to address business needs.
  • Facilitate cross-functional partnership between engineers, product managers, and designers to set the right goals and solve problems across our platform.
  • Advocate for and implement engineering best practices and lead engineers to develop technical strategies to guide short and long-term plans.
  • Partner with other leaders as we craft and evolve an agile, learning organization.
  • Nurture a healthy, collaborative engineering culture in-line with our values.

  • You are a great communicator and know how to manage expectations with external and internal stakeholders.

Where you’ll be:

  • We are a distributed workforce that allows our band members to find a work mode best for them!
  • You’ll have the option to work from any Spotify office in the Americas or work remotely from the comfort of your home. Find more information about our Work From Anywhere options

. * We maintain core hours from 10-4 pm Eastern Time for collaboration, and you will be expected to work ET hours, no matter where you are located.

  • Our team headquarters is in NYC and if you live outside the area you’ll be expected to travel there a few times per year for team gatherings and workshops.
