We are looking for a Head of Creative to define and evolve the creative vision for the Creative Group and support our creative team to do the best work of their careers.
Job Summary
The Head of Creative for The Washington Post Creative Group will lead our creative and production teams. This leader will cultivate a vision, purpose and innovation roadmap for The Washington Post Creative Group and be responsible for overseeing all creative from development to design and production to final deliverable. Our ideal candidate will be a digital-forward creative leader who can guide the development of creative products within the Washington Post ad ecosystem as adeptly as they can give creative direction on the production of branded podcasts or immersive digital experiences. They are passionate about the power and need for consequential journalism and the opportunity that The Washington Post provides brand partners. They will be a visionary and coach with proven experience while empowering, inspiring and growing the careers of creative team members. This role will report directly to the VP of Marketing for Client Solutions.

Responsibilities
Define and lead the creative vision for The Washington Post Creative Group across brand, marketing and design and develop and identity positioning for our signature approach and value proposition
Design an ideal-state creative team operating model that maximizes output effectively and efficiently.
Elevate the caliber of WP Creative Group work across all channels, including our own platforms, and evangelize our signature approach at advertising industry events and panels
Inspire, enable, energize and coach a world-class creative team, and cultivate a creative culture of innovation
Demonstrate advocacy for major campaigns, creative innovation and new initiatives
Work cross-functionally with consumer marketing, product marketing and creative teams across The Washington Post, balancing the needs of executive stakeholders and breaking down complex narratives into simple, compelling ideas
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
15+ years experience in a creative leadership role
Experience concepting and art directing award-winning executions in the media, brand and/or publisher space.
Online portfolio that showcases branded content solutions across multiple categories, with key performance metrics (applications submitted without a portfolio will not be considered)
Working familiarity with design tools and workflows including Figma, Sketch, and all Adobe Creative Suite programs (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere) and proficiency with presentation and team productivity tools including Keynote, Google Slides and PowerPoint
Experience recruiting and retaining talent and developing creative teams
Experience across the full palette of branded content: print, digital, video, audio, AR/VR, social and experiential
Experience collaborating with cross-functional partners
Experience partnering with and influencing Chief Marketing Officers and other executive stakeholders
