Lark Hotels is currently seeking an experienced Bartender at our location in Salem, MA, The Hotel Salem. The right person for this job can multitask, takes pride in serving superior cocktails, cares about presentation, and is focused on hospitality. The hours for this position are generally 20-30 hours per week, weekend availability is essential. The responsibilities will consist of beverage preparation, beverage presentation, sanitation, set up and breakdown of service period. Also, you must be physically able to carry at least 25 lbs, stand for 8-10 hours, and use repetitive motions for long periods of time. Responsibilities:
Verify customers’ identification age to ensure they are of legal age and provide alcoholic drinks in compliance with federal, state, municipal, and corporate rules and regulations
Take patron orders and deliver a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages including wine, beer, liquor, and mixed drinks
Collect payments, settle patron checks, and ensure tabs are paid, as well as record daily sales totals in the point of sale system
Purchase needed bar supplies, stock and track all wine, liquor, and beer stocks, and have a full supply of glassware on hand, notifying management of any supply issues or shortages
Complete all restocking and cleaning duties by performing opening and closing side work as instructed
Qualifications:
Educational requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent GED certification
Display excellent communication and interpersonal skills with customers and coworkers
Must have a strong focus on putting the patron first with exceptional customer service experience
We prefer some experience working in the food service industry
Outstanding time management and organizational skills
- 1-2 years prior bartending experience
- Maintain TIPS certification
