We are searching for animal loving, dedicated, detail orientated candidates with a passion for providing top of the line customer services, to join our Client Care Team as Doctor’s Assistants.
As a Doctor’s Assistant, you will assist the doctors in day to day duties and be the direct liaison between our clients and their doctor. Scheduling appointments, making treatment plans, client education, discharge’s etc.
Whether it is in our oncology, internal medicine, emergency or general practice department, you will have the opportunity to grow your skills and be exposed to a wide variety of cases.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We are looking to hire experienced Doctor’s Assistants needed in our busy state-of-the-art hospital. Shifts include day time and evening, as well as weekdays and weekends/holidays (we work as a team).
Ideally seeking candidates with a minimum of 1-3 years of current veterinary hospital experience, preferably in emergency veterinary medicine, although this is not a must. Any customer service experience is welcomed.
Your position as a DOCTOR’S ASSISTANT at VCA Encina Veterinary Medical Center will include but not limited to: answering phones on a multi-line phone system, making appointments across multiple departments and doctors, checking clients in and out, talking with clients regarding their pets and family, creating and presenting financial estimates to clients, discussing finances with clients, processing and collecting payments, filling medications and or communicating with pharmacies regarding prescriptions and refills, stocking pharmacy, following up with clients regarding their pets, help triaging calls from clients who may have an emergency or urgent care situation with their pets, requesting records from other hospitals, and assisting your assigned doctor in their appointments and their patient’s needs.
Both full-time and part-time positions are available. All shifts are between 8-10 hours long and all available schedules include weekend shifts. After 30 days, you will begin to become eligible for benefits such as health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401K plan, allowances for uniforms and CE (continuing education), vacation days, holiday pay, and personal veterinary care discounts.
