Are you a born storyteller who can generate ideas quickly? Do you want to use your skills to help elect Democratic candidates who can change the course of history?

We are looking for an enthusiastic writer with natural talent and an interest in politics who can bring out the passion in our candidates with messaging that speaks to people’s hearts and guts. • Review designed layouts of mail and other collateral media to ensure that the copy you draft works with the accompanying art/design
  • In addition to the general scope of responsibilities for this position, you will occasionally help on non-political projects, such as brandings for nonprofits, advocacy groups and other organizations

Essential skills:

  • Excellent writing ability. Clear prose and clean grammar with enough expertise to know when to break the rules. Appreciation for the principles of Strunk & White (“Omit needless words.”)
  • A sense of style and the talent to move audiences emotionally and politically with limited copy.
  • Aptitude for writing short form copy (the majority of the work will be under 200 words, including headlines and paragraph body text)
  • The flexibility to adapt creatively to the requirements of different media, clients and audiences
  • Ability to understand clients’ messages and translate them into compelling headlines and copy as well as provide thoughts on accompanying imagery
  • Power to think both creatively and strategically, independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to meet deadlines and keep track of multiple assignments at once
  • A passion for good work, openness to receiving feedback and using it to improve work, an ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and a team player mindset
  • Willingness to work long hours and weekends during peak periods

Experience necessary:

  • We don’t care how many years of experience you have. We care about the quality of work you can do on day one. Resumes with political experience will stand out
