Job description: JOB SUMMARY:

The Purchase to Pay (P2P) Accounting Manager is primarily responsible for P2P Account Monitoring, Reconciliation Review and Troubleshooting. Management of offshore accounting resources to ensure ongoing clearing and reconciliation of P2P accounts (primarily Accounts Payable account). Follow-up and problem-solving with other functional groups (e.g. Treasury) within the company to resolve clearing and reconciliation issues. Supports Merger & Acquisition activity as it impacts P2P accounts. Ensures P2P account operations are aligned with the Global Core Model.


Monitors and manages P2P account balances including alerting and resolving timely any issues or unusual activity and continuously monitoring for aged activity.

Manages Business outsourced team to perform clearing for P2P accounts including liability accounts such as Goods receipt/Invoice receipt account (GR/IR), 3rd party Trade payables account, Unclaimed Property account and travel & Expense account.

Works closely with Treasury to resolve outstanding balances within bank transitory accounts including voided check clearing and manual posting clearings.

Ensures performance of Internal payment orders prepped by outsourced P2P accounting team and provided to Treasury for credit payments in particular for Travel/ expense account and Purchasing Card account.

Assist with global core model implementation and adherence in terms of activity performed and process sequence to perform as well as alignment of accountability to the right function/organization.

Performs monthly and quarterly account reconciliation reviews within Sanofi systems and/or ensures performance of such by outsourced accounting resources.

Preparation and/or management of preparation of reporting and presentations for P2P activity such as GR/IR clearing and reconciliation for Accounts to Report organization, upper management and other financial community.

Monitors Downpayment accounts and coordinates with business for account clearing and communicates and resolves any outstanding items.

Assists in Merger & Acquisition projects as it pertains to P2P Accounts including managing migrated accounting data and clearing such. Advising on pre-migration account entry determination.

Assist in ERP implementation project for the phased roll-out of SAP S4 HANA including system testing, review of data migration and other support for the project including post migration clearing.

Assist in the preparation of non-recurring reports, presentations and/or responses for “ad hoc” requests as they arise.

Partners with the business units to continuously improve the services, accuracy and timing of the P2P accounting processes.

Maintains and cultivates strategic partnerships with North America financial community to ensure integration and implementation of efficient process and policies.

Accountable for delivering service and meeting objectives within defined financial reporting dates and in support of Sanofi North America Accounts to Report requirements.

Performs duties in compliance with Sanofi internal controls and segregation of duties documentation and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.


Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration from an accredited four-year college or university

2-4 years of experience (CPA preferred)

Public Accounting experience is preferred.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Strong computer, organizational and time management skills are necessary

Working knowledge of SAP FI/CO/MM a plus

Must have permanent US work authorization
