We have an opportunity to work as part of a positive dynamic team as a business partner, with a technical expertise in a combination of Human Resources, Safety and Training to continually provide support in the areas of onboarding training, safety efforts and employee engagement and development.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Safety:

  • Initiate, promote, implement and maintain health and safety projects and initiatives.
  • Conduct monthly safety meetings
  • Update, maintain and present safety orientations and training records for all new and existing employees.
  • Update Safety Manuals and track trainings as required.
  • Support operations with maintaining health and safety bulletin boards
  • Participate in Safety Committee
  • Ensure compliance with safety training tracking required by all state and federal laws.

Human Resources:

  • Support all HR functions required to manage the day-to-day operations of the HR office.
  • Support the maintenance of personnel records of employees
  • Knowledgeable in HR standards, regulations and legislation to ensure compliance with same.
  • Support all recruiting and staffing logistics
  • Support organizational development
  • Support employee orientation, development, and training
  • Support policy development and documentation
  • Support employee relationship management
  • Support compensation and benefits administration

Job Requirements: qualifications

Post-secondary education in Safety, Environmental or Health Management & Compliance, with at least 2 years’ experience supporting a safety program in a manufacturing environment

Possess a certification as an HR Professional or have completed HR coursework in a post-secondary education degree program. (Preferred)

Possess a high level of technical expertise, ability to apply skills to continuous process improvement while maintaining maximum levels of safety,

Demonstrated leadership skills and abilities

Possess current Standard First Aid and CPR certificate or be able to obtain within 90 days of hire.

Manufacturing and/or warehouse experience (preferred)

1-5 years supporting the implementation and promotion safe work practices and policies

Experience with accident investigation, workplace inspection and job hazard analysis are preferred

Understanding of safe work practice requirements and recommendations

Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and other common applications
