Delta Air Lines is looking for a Senior Learning Designer to collaborate with members of the In-Flight Service (IFS) Learning team to transform the flight attendant training and development journey. With requirements, such as U.S. aviation regulations, unique physical training locations, a global workforce and established technology, the Senior Learning Designer must be empathetic, optimistic, intrinsically motivated and resourceful in order to analyze and create effective learning products and experiences. As a strategic thinker, the Senior Learning Designer is also a tactical planner on a mission to implement intentional, meaningful and lasting innovation through design, process improvement, technology and storytelling.
- Design and develop accurate and current learning experiences and performance support resources
- Develop and execute creative assets as well as provide graphic design solutions to support various projects
- Analyze IFS programs, policies and procedures to identify training and development interventions that support flight attendant duties and responsibilities in the areas of safety, customer experience, wellbeing and diversity, equity and inclusion
- Design strategic learning objectives and lessons plans to guide tactical curriculum development to be delivered through a variety of methods, including instructor-led training in the Atlanta and Salt Lake City Training Centers and throughout the system, as well as eLearning, videos and print and digital performance support materials
- Supervise the continuity of curriculum and learning experiences
- Inspire, mentor and guide a team of curriculum specialists and creatives to produce best-in-class work, while ensuring brand consistency across team output
- An intrapreneurial spirit, willing to look beyond what has always been done and toward creative opportunities to enhance learning experiences while actively supporting a shared, organizational vision
- Establish metrics to measure performance during and following training interventions
- Work independently and on teams with analysts, learning designers, subject matter experts, curriculum coordinators and facilitators
- Create and maintain IFS Learning intranet pages as an intuitive digital repository that contains learning and performance support resources for flight attendants and facilitators
- Participate as an active member in the Delta learning community
- Lead and manage projects with outside vendors
- Research and implement innovative ways to use technology to develop engaging, interactive learning
- Partner with departments within IFS as well as other divisions at Delta to accomplish overall IFS and Delta goals
- Occasional travel required
- Practice safety-conscious behaviors in all operational and processes and procedures

- High school diploma, GED or high school equivalency

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)
- Online portfolio demonstrating strong visual design skills
- Data collection, analysis and reporting experience
- Portfolio, project or program management experience
- Experience as a flight attendant or working with flight attendants
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in instructional design, graphic design or equivalent field
- Demonstrative experience with the following tools via work portfolio or samples:
- Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Lightroom, Audition, After Effects, Premiere Pro) or equivalent
- eLearning tools (Articulate Storyline, Studio, Adobe Captivate, Lectora) or equivalent
- Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Visio, Outlook, Excel, Sharepoint) or equivalent
- Survey tools (Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey, Google Forms) or equivalent
- iBooks or equivalent
