The Product and Payment Services Risk team at Visa helps to identify, assess, and prepare for any risks that may interfere with Visa’s objectives. The Product and Payment Services Risk Business Partner, Senior Manager is responsible for cultivating a strong risk management culture into Visa’s product and business units. This individual must be able to effectively aggregate and communicate the main enterprise risks of the Visa Business Solutions Business Unit. The individual will be regarded as a trusted business partner leveraging risk, payment product and business expertise.
The successful candidate must have:
Knowledge and understanding of risk management practices: experience in identifying, assessing, managing, and reporting risks
Business acumen, understanding of the payments industry, payment products and services, and of wider economic/competitive landscape
Understanding of Visa’s business strategy, its clients and their evolving requirements, with demonstrated problem-solving skills and excellent judgment
Demonstrated experience providing a comprehensive risk management point of view that helps inform business decisions (risk/reward tradeoff)
Track record in synthesizing complex information to produce impactful management information and support informed executive decision making
The Risk Business Partner will be responsible for:
Developing partnerships with key business stakeholders in Visa’s Digital Partnerships and Innovation organization to identify, mitigate, monitor and report on risks impacting their business and product lines
Driving and embedding risk culture throughout the product organization to further evolve Product Risk oversight at Visa
Ensure appropriate alignment with other Policies, Frameworks, Processes and Procedures
Working seamlessly with a wide group of internal customers in a way that engenders mutual respect and consideration for the other party’s point of view
Implementing Visa’s Risk Management and Appetite Frameworks:
Collaborate with cross functional teams to identify and monitor risks of the entity by performing deep dive risk assessments on a risk prioritized basis
Provide constructive challenge to business functions & make recommendations on risk controls or other actions required to drive risk mitigation
Oversee the development and mitigation of identified risks
Liaise closely with central Risk teams on centrally managed Risk programs, e.g. Supplier Risk Management, Compliance Risk Management, New Business Initiative Assessment, Risk and Control Self-Assessment.
Monitoring the risk profile of supported business organizations:
Establish and monitor Key Risk Indicators to assist management in the early identification of risks and trends
Maintain risk registers for risk aggregation
Escalate risks to the appropriate governance body
Providing reports on the entity’s risk profile to applicable governance committees highlighting risks that warrant most attention
Prepare materials, including keeping minutes, for the quarterly Risk Review Meetings
Reporting as required to Operational Risk Sub-Committee (ORS) and Corporate Risk Committee (CRC)

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office two days a week, Tuesdays and Wednesdays with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% of the time based on business needs.
- 8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree in Finance, Economics or Business Field preferred or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD
- 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD
- An understanding of the payments industry and financial services, payment products and services, and of wider economic / competitive landscape
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation, communication and facilitation skills, plus ability to work independently and effectively in a continually changing environment
- Clear thinker with strong technical and data analysis skills and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to develop strong relationships and work with all organizational levels
- Advanced knowledge, skill and understanding in applying risk management practices specifically as it relates to Enterprise and Operational Risk Management (e.g., risk appetite, risk assessment, scoring, mitigation, acceptance)
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint
