A Transportation Analyst III manages the movement of Prime Product from facility to dealership or end customer. It is the first line of contact for dealer questions, concerns, and requests regarding transportation of shipments.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Oversee the end to end transportation of Prime Product orders to North America dealers
Provide oversight to Trade Lane Analysts in support of dealer delivery requirements and overall experience
Work effectively with diverse, multi-functional teams to apply the supply chain planning process and lead team efforts to develop optimal order-delivery transportation flow
Establish metrics to ensure the most effective methods are implemented in reducing in-transit inventory and eliminating waste in the transportation process
Conduct regular governance and performance updates for dealers within assigned Trade Lane
Identify and execute process improvements and cost mitigation and savings within the Trade Lane, benefiting the dealers, product group, and customers
Establish relationships within the multi-modal transportation network, compliant with the Caterpillar Code of Conduct
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or 2+ years of experience in Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain Operations, Orders and/or Freight Forwarding
Experience working with data analysis
Previous experience in customer service
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.)
Top Candidates will also have:
Proven customer focus, dealer experience, management skills and the ability to communicate clearly in a global environment
Leadership skills to effectively lead supply chain improvements making the best use of available resources
Knowledge and understanding of ocean, rail and truck transportation modes and terminology
Thorough understanding of company policies and procedures
Knowledge of Caterpillar Prime Product
Knowledge of CMOPS, MACH1, GT Nexus, and Salesforce (eViz)
Previous experience in Supply Chain Planning and/or Freight Forwarding
Previous Import/Export experience
Previous experience with Tableau
Leadership skills to effectively action End to End Transportation Cost studies with multiple groups within Caterpillar (Orders Team, Procurement, Origin TLM Organization, Load Planning, etc.)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to creatively solve complex problems
Ability to communicate clearly in a global environment

This position requires 15% or less travel
