Reporting directly to the Managing Director/CIO of Asset Management-Financial Management-Corporate Technology, the VP, Information Systems, Finance Technology will be responsible for managing and leading all aspects of Finance Technology with overall accountability for operational finance, procurement, tax, treasury, payment and reporting systems utilized around the globe by Prudential’s Global Finance function. In addition, this person will own all technology aspects of Long-Term Care (LTC). This is inclusive of front-back-middle office technology for the entire business.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Oversight of the finance technology teams to assure the successful delivery of large, complex, mission critical business and technology projects, accountable for the performance of the team’s function.
  • Leading, developing, and evolving financial technology; providing career growth/development opportunities, while contributing to an innovative and inclusive culture. Continue to transformation the team through training and upskilling with contemporary technical skills.
  • Partner closely with Finance leaders to develop and drive a digital agenda; ensure our technology is optimally supporting business objectives centered in growth, financial solutions, and customer obsession.
  • Establish and drive an agile product delivery approach to champion a flexible and iterative culture that empowers our businesses through optimal use of technology.
  • Attract, develop, and mentor a high performing team in an exciting, inclusive, and collaborative environment.
  • Foster robust engineering practices and lead high performing engineering teams that develop ‘risk smart’ operational processes and technologies necessary to improve performance, reliability, results, control, and security in a highly regulated environment.
  • Implement best practice, continuous improvement processes that prioritize incident identification, analysis, and remediation, with an emphasis on automation and prevention.
  • Constantly monitor emerging technologies to drive financial insight and business results via dimensions of cost, benefit, and applicability/feasibility.
  • Execute vendor management with a focus on improving vendor engagement, relationships, and ultimately performance.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • 10 + years of experience in Information Systems Management with demonstrated success as an Information Technology executive that can drive technology transformation.
  • Familiarity with core financial systems such as general ledger tools, enterprise resource planning capabilities, payment and treasury technology
  • Strong technical skills in the areas related to application architecture, software defined infrastructure, cloud enablement and technical transformation.
  • Experience being directly responsible for managing the technologies and applications required across the broad range of business functions, especially those related to insurance companies.
  • Broad and deep experience in developing and implementing strategic and tactical systems plans with a successful track record of partnering with internal stakeholders; Proven record of delivering business transformational initiatives.
  • A leader who fosters an environment focused on teamwork, high-performance, accountability, innovation and growth; not afraid to ‘roll up the sleeves’ and seeks to go outside comfort zone to learn – pushes the team to do the same.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, persistence, and resilience; comfort with and ability to thrive on and drive change while navigating ambiguity.
  • Objective, diplomatic team player with excellent collaboration, networking, and influencing skills, as well as credibility and commitment to building trust and developing relationships.
  • Executive level vendor management skills; with proven results in delivering business value at a fair and reasonable cost.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to aggregate, interpret and translate complex business challenges into business models, process, and technology solutions in alignment with the team’s goals.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
