Position Summary: Foundation Communities is seeking a Volunteer Coordinator who will work with the Volunteer Engagement Manager to connect community members with best-in-class volunteer opportunities serving affordable housing communities. Ideal candidates will possess strong customer service skills, be well organized, and be able to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
Essential Job Functions:
Recruitment and Retention
- Recruit a diverse pool of community members to volunteer with Foundation Communities’ Housing, Education, and Health program areas.
- Craft compelling and timely messages to inspire and motivate prospective and active volunteers to invest their time and stay informed about programs.
- Implement and assist with volunteer recognition programs and practices including communications, events, and relationship management.
- Work to create spaces where people want to be. Where staff, clients, and volunteers are encouraged to come as they are and are accepted, included, and respected.
Operations and Management
- Coordinate multiple volunteer programs and assist in administration of in-kind giving programs, including providing volunteer support and collaborating with program staff.
- Manage a high volume of email and phone communication with a commitment to excellent customer service.
- Create and maintain robust volunteer records, data, and reporting using multiple systems.
- Support the development and implementation of evaluation processes for volunteers and key staff through surveys, interviews, data collection, and review.
Training
- Ensure volunteers have the training, resources and support needed to be successful in their role.
- Work with program staff and volunteers to develop and present volunteer trainings.
- Support volunteers through the online training and onboarding process.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Ability to coordinate multiple projects and tasks with competing deadlines without sacrificing quality.
- Adapts easily to new technologies. Uses technology to increase productivity. Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and working with a variety of databases.
- Ability to build authentic relationships with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to work independently and to ask for help when needed.

Salary and Benefits: This is a full-time position working a 40-hour workweek, $23/hour. Position requires occasional nights and weekend. Foundation Communities provides a benefits package including:

Working Conditions:
General office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.
Physical Requirements:
General office-based demands including remaining in the seated position with occasional standing and walking. Computer input, phone calls. Occasionally: lift 10-20 lbs.
