Job description: Enterprise Concentration Risk Management (ECRM) is an enterprise wide risk management function that encompasses credit risk, market risk, liquidity risk and operational risk. ECRM is part of the overall Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Organization.

The VP ECRM Monitoring and Reporting – Non Financial Risk role is focused on supporting and enhancing the concentration risk framework for Non Financial Risk Pools – Operational, Reputational and Strategic Risk. The individual will be responsible for providing concentration related subject matter expertise in these areas to relevant stakeholders. The role encompasses:

  • reviewing and challenging concentration risk identification framework (including any metrics) in coordination with risk and business management
  • monitoring existing and emerging concentration risks to develop relevant concentration risk driven narrative for Senior Management (monthly) and to the Citi/CBNA Board (quarterly) reports

The VP integrates subject matter and contributes to standards around which others will operate. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the entire function. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas.

Responsibilities:

  • Establishes and oversees the application of ECRM Framework to identify areas of concentration in Operational, Reputational and Strategic Risk by working closely with the Operational, Reputational and Strategic Risk Pools.
  • Be conversant with Operational, Reputational and Strategic Risk policies and their interaction with the ECRM Policy.
  • Assesses concentration risks and drives actions to manage them by challenging both historical and proposed practices
  • Performs independent analysis/assessment of the concentration risk related issues to develop relevant concentration risk driven narrative for Senior Management (monthly) and to the Citi/CBNA Board (quarterly) reports
  • Support the enhancement and ongoing oversight of the ECRM Team monitoring and reporting capabilities and ensure all monitoring and reporting procedures align with ECRM risk policies/procedures and work effectively with individual business risk policies as they pertain to ECRM
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance the connectivity of ECRM processes with day-to-day business, risk management and other risk governance practices. This will include strengthening existing linkages or establishing new linkages to other practices at the firm (e.g. Risk ID)
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Qualifications:

  • 6-10 years experience in Operational Risk is a must. Other risk and control disciplines would be a plus – credit, and market.
  • Experience in Internal Audit or Financial Control would be desirable.
  • Expertise in the following is beneficial: Reputation Risk Management and Strategic Risk Management
  • Management of a global operations and a complex environment that includes global teams.

Strong written communication skills related to policy writing and Board-level presentations / financial and risk reporting

Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office – particularly Excel (metrics and data analysis), PowerPoint (presentation decks), and Word (writing and editing procedural and technical documentation)

Experience in SAS/Tableau a plus

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
  • Master’s degree preferred
