Our Role:
PGIM seeks an attorney to fill a vacancy in the PGIM Regulatory Law Department. PGIM Regulatory Law provides legal support to the PGIM businesses, addressing a wide variety of legal and regulatory issues affecting PGIM’s multiple businesses, particularly where it may be more effective to address them centrally. PGIM is the asset management business of Prudential and includes PGIM Fixed Income; PGIM Quantitative Solutions; Jennison Associates; PGIM Real Estate; PGIM Private Capital; PGIM Portfolio Advisory; and PGIM Investments. The PGIM Regulatory Law Department provides legal support to the central business functions of PGIM and collaborates with legal and compliance partners across the PGIM and Prudential enterprise. We primarily advise on U.S. federal and state securities and investment management laws, and EU and UK asset management laws and regulations.
Your Impact:
- Monitor and report on the continually evolving regulatory environment for PGIM’s diverse asset management activities; analyze regulatory and legal developments
- Provide legal advice related to the registration of regulated entities, implementation of regulatory requirements, interpretation of regulations and regulators’ guidance, as well as other regulatory matters
- Provide legal advice relating to investment advisory services, fund products, and marketing
- Advise on corporate governance and record keeping matters
- Provide advice on regulatory filings and dealings with regulators, development of policies and procedures, resolution of compliance issues, response to regulatory inquiries and provided legal support in connection with regulatory examinations
- Support cross business unit legal initiatives and partner and coordinate with team members and stakeholders to achieve project priorities
Your Required Skills:
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited institution with a minimum of 6 years of experience in asset management, preferably within an in-house legal department or at a major law firm
- Familiarity with asset management products/services and their regulations
- Strong interpersonal skills as well as technical legal ability
- Curiosity about businesses, products and legal and policy issues coupled with the motivation to achieve meaningful results
- Self-starter who can function independently, with a strong work ethic and high professional and ethical standards
- Superior research and analytical skills, comfort with conceptual thinking and creativity as a problem solver
- Strong written and oral communication skills, such as the ability to distill and explain complex regulatory matters
- Excellent judgment and the ability to give clear, independent and timely advice that is supportive of business objectives
- Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing needs of the organization as well as the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a collegial but demanding environment
