Emory Law seeks a customer-service oriented person to join its Welcome Center. The Welcome Center is the hub of support for students, faculty, and staff within the school of law. The staff of the Welcome Center ensure the seamless operations of the school from answering any question that arises (or referring it to the person who can) to supporting other departments in their effort to provide a superior experience. This position will receive additional training to provide administrative support to the admissions department at Emory Law. JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Manages daily operations of the Emory Law Welcome Center at the direction of the Director of Operations.
  • Receives, screens, and assists visitors and resolves routine issues.
  • Maintains files, operates equipment, and performs other office procedures.
  • Oversees cash operations for copy services including charge-backs, credit card processing, and cash handling.
  • Creates records and audits for accuracy.
  • Reviews incoming correspondence and forwards appropriately.
  • Provides necessary forms, answers related questions, reviews for accuracy, and forwards to appropriate areas.
  • Processes incoming and prepares outgoing mail and packages.
  • Develops recommendations and action plans towards resolving specific operational issues including the creation and updating of standard operating procedures for all equipment and services.
  • Supervises and schedules student workers.
  • Oversees the ordering of equipment and supplies.
  • Provides administrative support for assigned faculty and/or departments.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:

  • This is an in-person position.
  • The hours of the Welcome Center are currently 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Monday through Friday though our intent is to extend the hours to 7 p.m. beginning in the Spring 2023 semester.
  • This position has responsibility for opening the Welcome Center each morning so the shift would begin at 7:30 a.m. and end at 4:30 p.m.
  • The exact times are subject to change with advance notice.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Six years of experience in office administration
  • OR a bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field and two years of office administration or related experience.
  • Experience with various personal computer software applications.
  • Excellent demonstrated customer service.
